SWAN (South West Adoption Network)

is a regional post adoption support agency, which was registered as an Adoption Support Agency in 2006 under the New Adoption & Children Act 2002.

We provide support, advice and short term counselling to everyone affected by adoption, in our subscribing areas. We also provide consultation and training for professionals working in the adoption field.

Our subscribing authorities currently include

Bath & North East Somerset,

Bristol,

North Somerset,

South Gloucestershire

Swindon

Individuals who were placed for adoption by a subscribing area but now living elsewhere also qualify, providing you can travel to one of our centres or we have staff who can work locally to you

Many other local authorities in the South West region are expected to join SWAN, so it is therefore worth checking with us or your local authority to see if they have becoming subscribers
