Welcome to the South West Adoption Network (SWAN)
SWAN has contracts with Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, N. Somerset, S. Gloucestershire, and Swindon Councils to provide independent adoption support. We work with all people affected by adoption who live in these areas.
SWAN is an Adoption Support Agency with charitable status which is regulated by Ofsted. SWAN was inspected by Ofsted in 2011 and was found to be good overall with excellent user focussed services. A full version of the report can be found here.
SWAN has been established since 2001 specialising in providing adoption support services with professionally qualified specialist workers.
SWAN is available for other local authority and spot contracts. SWAN is a member of the Consortium of Adoption Support Agencies (CASA) . CASA was formed in 2003 by several adoption support agencies with the initial aim of providing peer support. The consortium now provides a national forum where adoption support agencies can discuss issues relating to the provision of adoption support services. The organisation aims to represent the views of service users and work in partnership with other agencies to contribute to the shaping of national policy and practice.
